Who runs this place?

Hames Center is a private gym owned and operated by Sitka Fine Arts Camp.

Who is the manager?

Do I have to pay for my child under 5?

Nope! Kids under 5 are free.

Who can I put on my family plan?

You can put 2 adults and all children under 18 in your household on your family plan.

Is there Wi-Fi for members?

Unfortunately, we do not provide wi-fi for members so that our front desk computer and iPads work swiftly.

Can I use the rock-climbing wall?

The rock-climbing wall is available for bouldering only (free climbing). We aren't offering belay partnering at this time. Please bring your own equipment including shoes and wipe down mats and all handholds when you’re done.

Weekend hours?

Saturday and Sunday 9am-2pm

Can I volunteer in exchange for a membership?

We no longer accept volunteers. Our front desk staff is a paid position.

What about hockey?

Hockey is no longer allowed at the Hames Center as it damages the floor. No indoor skates of any kind are allowed. 

What about pickleball?

Anyone can play pickleball on the court on a first come first serve basis. Check out our open gyms on Tuesday nights.

Racquetball?

There is one racquetball court available, no reservations can be made. First come first serve. 

How can I rent a locker?

Please ask the front desk, we will provide you a lock for a small fee.

Are/will the saunas be available?

Saunas are no longer available.

Can I still use a gift certificate or gift card?

We are no longer accepting any gift certificates or gift cards that may have been issued in the past.

Can I get a refund for a membership I didn’t use?

No, all membership sales are final.

What kind of discounts do you offer?

We offer discounts to different groups/organizations in the community including SEARHC, USCG Air Station Sitka, Hames Corporation, Sitka Counseling, and AmeriCorps.
