Youth
Hames Center Youth Policies:
- Youth under the age of 5 get in free but must be supervised 
- Youth who are 15 years or older are allowed in the entire facility without adult supervision 
- Anyone younger than 15 cannot use the weights or cardio equipment without supervision from a coach or parent 
- Youth who are 10-14 years old are allowed to be in the main gym without adult supervision 
- Youth who are 9 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult while they are in the facility 
- An adult is someone who is 18 years or older 
Rules and Expectations
Hames Center Member Policies:
- All members must check-in before entering any area at the Hames Center. 
- Hames Center reserves the right to add invoices to members' accounts who do not pay upon entry. 
- Members who refuse to pay will be asked to leave. 
- Food or drink is not allowed beyond the lobby, with the exception of water in a closed container. 
- No street shoes beyond the lobby. Clean, indoor athletic or closed-toe shoes in all other areas are required. 
- Members must wear a shirt at all times, accompanied with appropriate workout attire. (no jeans or belt buckles) 
- Wipe down of equipment and returning equipment where it belongs after use is required and appreciated. 
- Please limit the use of equipment to 30 minutes if others are waiting. 
- No yelling, grunting, or screaming. Be mindful of your noise level and be respectful of other members. 
- Hames Center encourages family time and children’s programs, but children under 10 must be accompanied at all times by a supervising adult. All members must be 15 years or older to access Hames Center’s cardio and weight conditioning areas. Youth ages 10-14 may be provided a youth workout pass upon equipment etiquette and safety training, or by permission slip from a coach or trainer. 
- The climbing wall is open for bouldering only, climbers will only climb up to appropriate bouldering height. Members may not belay or use equipment without permission. Hames Center may schedule exclusive use of the climbing wall to certain groups. Climbers must be 15 years or older to use the wall without supervision. Climbers agree to use the wall at their own risk and do not hold the Hames Center responsible for injuries. 
- Report any injuries to the Hames Center staff. 
- The use of all facilities is subject to posted rules and policies, which are subject to change without notice. 
- Locker rooms and showers are available for members only. Daily use lockers are provided at no charge but will be emptied at night. Locks left on unrented or daily use lockers will be removed at the owner's expense. 
- Hours of operation are subject to change based on holidays, community events, staff availability, and large group reservations without notice. 
- Members will be asked to leave during hours the facility is closed and unstaffed. 
- The Hames Center, and all of the Sitka Fine Arts Campus, is a tobacco-free facility. 
- All Hames Center users are responsible for knowledge of, and compliance with, all posted rules/etiquette signs and the direction of staff members. 
- All members/participants use the Center at their own risk. The Hames Center is not to be held responsible for any preexisting risks or conditions, conditioning injuries or other injuries sustained while using the amenities of the Hames Center. 
- Any violation of the Hames Center rules and regulations will be subject to suspension of privileges for a period to be determined. Privileges are subject to termination due to: repeated violation of Hames Center policies; belligerent behavior which is threatening to members or staff; or expiration of membership due to nonpayment of membership fees. 
- Damage to Hames Center property shall be paid for by any person who willfully or negligently causes such damages. 
- All memberships & purchases are nontransferable and nonrefundable. 
Rentals
Rental Policy
The Hames Center is not available to rent for any group, party, or event. However, hours of operation and availability of different areas of the facility is subject to change based on holidays, community events, staff availability, and SFAC classes without notice.
